• Who We Are

  • Victoria Friendly Montessori- VFM Kenya is a child-cantered non-governmental organization working with communities on Rusinga Island to improve the well-being of children and vulnerable households through integrated programs in education, healthcare, nutrition, child protection, WASH, disability and elderly inclusion, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

  • A Vision Rooted in Dignity

Victoria Friendly Montessori was founded on a single, unshakeable belief: every child deserves a dignified future. Working on Rusinga Island and in surrounding communities, VFM was built to prove that the right support, given with respect and intention, can transform lives across generations.

Projects That Go to the Root

VFM runs programmes where the need is greatest — clean water for hundreds of households, financial empowerment for women, education rooted in Montessori values, health, and income generation. Each project is designed not to create dependency, but to build lasting capacity within the community.

    Partners in Change, Not Charity

VFM welcomes NGOs, companies, individuals and volunteers who share the belief that real change requires real commitment. Whether you contribute financially, in kind, or through your skills and time, you are not making a donation — you are becoming part of a movement investing in people and their future.

    • Accountability: At VFM we are accountable to all our stakeholders, we believe that any resource given to us is a self-sacrifice by the giver.
    • Stewardship: Children according to us are innocent and gifts from God, we therefore feel pride as we serve them and their families.
    • Transparency: It is also our belief that many negative questions from stakeholders are sign of mistrust and suspicion, we therefore do our business in a way that all our stakeholders understand.
    • Partners: “We can do more together than we can on our ownthis is our motto that in partnership we can do much. We therefore value partners and partnerships.
    • Voluntarism: It is in our hearts that what we do can only be paid by God but can be appreciated by man.
